First Night

So we cheated.....Ms. Wood, Kennedy, Ms. Edwards and I decided to get a hotel room in Boston and meet the rest of the group at the airport in the morning. The rest of the group is going to meet at the High School tonight at 11:30 PM and drive through the night on a school bus. We are going to sleep or try to sleep until around 3:15 when we will get up and take a shuttle to the airport. We will then meet the rest of the group and will fly with them from Logan to Miami. We will then take another flight from Miami to Santiago, Dominican Republic.

We left the school and arrived at Ms. Edwards' parents house. We had a yummy dinner and then Mrs. Edwards drove us to the hotel :)

Can't wait to start our adventure tomorrow.

Packing Party

The group met at the high school on Sunday and everyone brought in all their donations for the trip. It was amazing how many items were brought in to donate. We ended up filling 27 bags with about 50 pounds each.

The airline has been great. They are letting each individual check two bags for no cost. That means we will each bring one bag down full of donations and one bag with personal items. I can't wait to go and see the expression on the eyes of the students when they get all those new school supplies and sports equipment. Below are some pictures from the packing party.

Here is a picture of all of the suitcases waiting to board the bus. It is going to be really fun watching everyone lugging so much luggage. Ms. Edwards says that she has never packed so much stuff for only one week.

The last picture is of the t-shirt that we will all be wearing while we are at the one room school house. Well everyone except Kennedy and myself. That's ok though. Ms. Wood's mother is bringing us back a pair of Mickey Mouse ears from Disneyland in California. She is there at a conference.
