Strasburg - Stonewall Jackson Musuem

Ms. Edwards and I spent some time at the Stonewall Jackson Musuem. The museum consisted of one room that had something for everyone. They had a section that laid out for children to complete activities in. They had an area about the homefront. They laid out the battles that Jackson was involved in chronologically. They provided maps for each of the battles and relevant materials. In the corner there was a video that discussed the life of Jackson. There were also exhibits in the room about life in the camp, uniforms and more.

Below is a map made by Jed Hotchkiss. He was Stonewall Jackson's topographer during the civil war and create some of the most detailed and amazing maps with very few tools. He started serving under Jackson in March of 1862 and was with him until his death. He created maps of Cedar Mountain, Second Battle of Manassas, Chantily, Harpers Ferry, Antietam, Fredericksburg, and Chancerllorsville.

Below are picture of two of the many scenes that were painted on the wall.
