Lexington - Museum of the Confederacy

Ms. Edwards, Ms. Wood, Kennedy and I went to the Museum of the Confederacy after a stop at the airport. The musueum is three floors and offers multiple exhibits. There are exhibits to each of the major battles, the different types of uniforms, art work created by soldiers, the homefront, and much more. Inside the museum is where you purchase tickets to view the Confederate White House.
  • In the lobby area is a display of all the different state flags. They are the flags of the Confederacy. These flags can be viewed from multiple floors and make a site to see.
  • The musuem holds the largest collection of artifacts from the Confederacy.
  • There are tons of original images of people during the Civil War era on exhibit.
  • There are exhibits about the field hospitals and the tools that the doctors used.
  • There are overviews of all the major battles and artifacts that would have been worn or seen at that location.

This museum is a must see for anyone interested in the Civil War and the Confederacy.
